Early in his senior year, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL), rendering him incapable of playing the remainder of the season.
In his freshman season, the team set school records for its best start (17–0), longest winning streak (17) and highest ranking (3/3).
At age 13, his uncle Lamont Taylor from Fairmont, North Carolina took Miller in to get him away from the Chicago street life.
