R. Norval Garrett

Robert Norval Garrett (February 15, 1904 – April 20, 1973) was an American college football coach.

Garrett attended Ball Teachers College—now known as Ball State University—where he did not play college football, but was a writer for the school's newspaper and focused on writing about sports.

[2] Garrett taught at Walkerton High School following his graduation from Ball Teachers College in 1928.

[2] He resigned following only one season where he led the team to a 2–4 record after A. L. Swanson was hired.

[2] He remained with Southeastern Louisiana after his resignation as the head of business administration until his retirement in 1970.
