Rachel Applegate Solomon

Rachel Emma Applegate was born in Lone Rock Ranch, Klamath County, Oregon, on November 23, 1887, the daughter of Capt.

Jesse Marion Anderson, was a pioneer Methodist minister, who was widely known in southern Oregon as a man of ability and worth.

[2] She graduated from Klamath County High School and taught one year before entering the University of Oregon to complete her education.

[1] She was a leader of the Delphian Society, a national organization that promoted the education of women in the United States.

She married for the third time to John George Swan (1875-1951), the former superintendent of Klamath County Schools.
