He attended the Frank Anthony Public School in New Delhi in 1973 and earned his bachelor's degree from Shri Ram College of Commerce in 1977.

[31] On 4 August 2023, the Supreme Court refused to entertain bail plea of Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor in a money-laundering case against him.
