Rancho Buena Vista

Rancho Buena Vista was a 2,288-acre (9.26 km2) Mexican land grant in present day San Diego County, California, given in 1845 by Governor Pío Pico to Felipe, an Indian.

The grant was south of San Luis Rey River and Rancho Monserate and encompassed present day Vista.

With the cession of California to the United States following the Mexican-American War, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo provided that the land grants would be honored.

[10] In 1874 Couts’ widow, Ysidora Bandini, gave Rancho Buena Vista to their daughter, Maria Antonia, who had married Chalmers Scott, as a wedding gift.

Scott moved to San Diego and Maria Antonia gave Rancho Buena Vista to her sister, Ysidora, who had married George Fuller.
