Rancho Laguna Seca

Rancho Laguna Seca was a 2,179-acre (8.82 km2) Mexican land grant in present-day Monterey County, California given in 1834 by Governor José Figueroa to Catalina M.

[3][4] With the cession of California to the United States following the Mexican–American War, the 1848 Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo provided that the land grants would be honored.

[7] On the property a prominent ridge of terrain exists that extends in an east-northeasterly direction to eventually reach Fort Ord.

A series of surface drainage ditches and gullies run south from the higher terrain of Fort Ord to join this flow.

Berwick and Canada de la Ordena Canyons also exist on the south and southeast portions of the Laguna Seca Ranch.
