Randy Veres

He was a consistent pitcher in the minors, with his perhaps his best season being 1987 with the Beloit Brewers-he went 10–6 that year with an ERA of 3.12.

[1] He made his major league debut against the New York Yankees on July 1, 1989, at the age of 23.

In total, he spent time with the Brewers, Chicago Cubs, Florida Marlins, Detroit Tigers (to whom he'd been traded for minor leaguer Matt Brunson), and Kansas City Royals.

In 1995, Veres had to go on the disabled list with an injured hand, which he hurt pounding on his hotel-room wall trying to get the people in the next room to be quiet.

[3] Veres died on November 13, 2016, and is buried in Holy Redeemer Cemetery in Phoenix, Arizona.
