Molhu is a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party and represented Rampur Maniharan constituency of Uttar Pradesh during the Sixteenth Legislative Assembly of Uttar Pradesh.

He currently represents Rampur Maniharan (Assembly constituency) and is a member of the Bahujan Samaj Party.
