Raymond Bonin

Raymond C. "Ray" Bonin (born November 20, 1942) is a former Canadian politician.

He was a Liberal member of the House of Commons of Canada, representing the riding of Nickel Belt, from 1993 to 2008.

Prior to entering politics, he was a teacher at Sudbury's Cambrian College.

On November 16, 2006, Bonin announced that he would not run for reelection in the 2008 federal election.

[1] Former Greater Sudbury city councillor Louise Portelance won the nomination to stand as the new Liberal candidate for Nickel Belt,[2] but was defeated by Claude Gravelle of the New Democratic Party on election day.
