Recep Şentürk (born 1964, Çankırı, Turkey), is a Turkish academic and sociologist of religion.
[1] He is a strong advocate of non-western sociological theories such as those by the Muslim sociologist Ibn Khaldun.
In 1988, he completed his postgraduate studies from the Department of Sociology at the Faculty of Arts of Istanbul Üniversity.
[4] He served as the Rector of Ibn Haldun Üniversity, after being appointed to the post by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
[5] He is currently serving as the dean of the College of Islamic Studies at Hamad Bin Khalifa University in Qatar.
