Red Island (film)

Red Island (French: L'Île rouge) is a 2023 coming-of-age drama film directed by Robin Campillo.

Written by Campillo and Gilles Marchand, it stars Nadia Tereszkiewicz, Quim Gutiérrez, and Charlie Vauselle.

Set in the early 1970s Madagascar, where Campillo spent his childhood,[3] it follows a ten-year-old boy and his family stationed in a French military base.

[9] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 72 out of 100, based on 7 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.
