Redfern Froggatt

Redfern Froggatt (23 August 1924 – 26 December 2003) was an English footballer for Sheffield Wednesday and England.

Over the course of the next 15 years he would go on to make a total of 498 appearances for the club, mostly as a striker but playing over 50 games as a winger, scoring 149 goals.

On New Year's Eve 1953, Froggatt submitted a transfer request, and an offer from Steel City derby rivals Sheffield United was rejected in February 1954.

On 22 January 1960, Froggatt turned down a move to fellow South Yorkshire club Doncaster Rovers, before signing for Stalybridge Celtic in 1962.

[2] Froggatt received his first representative honours when he played for England B against Switzerland B at his club's ground of Hillsborough, on 18 January 1950.
