Reuben Kamanga

Reuben Chitandika Kamanga (26 August 1929 – 20 September 1996) was a Zambian freedom fighter, politician and statesman.

Kamanga was born on 2 August in 1929 in Chipata district of the Eastern Zambia at Chitandika village of chief Chinunda.

In 1958 Kamanga along with other senior males from the Eastern Province joined the United National Independence party (UNIP).

Following the attainment of independence on 24 October 1964, Kamanga was appointed and became Zambia's first Vice-President under President Kenneth Kaunda.

RCK also served as Member of the Central Committee in charge of Legal & Political Affairs, before his retirement in 1990.
