Richard Byron, 2nd Baron Byron

Richard Byron, 2nd Baron Byron (1606 – 4 October 1679) was an English nobleman, Royalist, politician, peer, knight, and supporter of Charles I during the English Civil War.

He fought in the Battle of Edgehill as a "Valiant Colonel", and was knighted in 1642.

He also graduated from Oxford University, in 1642 with a Master of Arts (MA).

He held the office of Governor of Appleby Castle, Westmorland.
