Richard "Dick" Dickerson (July 7, 1937 – September 29, 2014) was an American politician and law enforcement officer.
[1] Dickerson was a native of Colorado who, following his discharge from the United States Army, settled in Southern California to begin a thirty-year career in law enforcement.
Following his retirement in 1993, Dickerson was appointed by Governor Pete Wilson to a vacancy on the Shasta County Board of Supervisors, and later he was elected to serve a four-year term.
In 2002 he ran in the Republican primary for State Senate but was defeated by Sam Aanestad.
As a city councilor he rotated with the other members in the position of Mayor of Redding.
