He attended Wynberg Boys' High school in Cape Town and received honours for cricket in 2005.

He held the record for the most runs scored in a Twenty20 international innings tied with Chris Gayle.

Levi has since struggled in International cricket, partly due to being a predominantly leg-side batsman and weak against spin bowling and dropped from the South Africa squad.

During October 2022 he played in the Swaminarayan t20 league hosted in Kenya Nairobi at sclp samaj ground.
