Richard Seymour (18th-century writer)

Richard Seymour (died c. 1750) was an 18th-century English editor and author, most noted for publishing the later editions of Charles Cotton's historic work, The Compleat Gamester.

This was one of the earliest known English-language games compendia.

It was followed by a 2nd edition in 1709 by an unknown editor.

In parallel, he published The Court Gamester from 1719 to 1728 which was "written for the use of young princesses.
