Rickard Sarby

Erik Rickard Sarby (19 September 1912 – 10 February 1977) was a Swedish sailor.

He competed in the mixed one-person dinghy event at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics and finished in fourth, third and fifth place, respectively.

[1] Born in a village near Uppsala, Sarby moved to the main city in the 1930s.

The design was based on an earlier open class E double-ended sailing canoe.

[3][4] The success of the subsequent prototype 'FINT' dinghy in sailing trials was sufficient to reverse its rejection in earlier rounds of selection.
