He played college football for the Ball State Cardinals before being selected by the Cowboys in the third round of the 2009 NFL draft.
In 2008, he helped Ball State achieve 12 straight wins and a national ranking for the first time in school history.
On October 15, 2010, during a 1-7 start, the Cowboys decided to release him due to a lack of production and to make room for wide receiver Jesse Holley.
