Robert Frank Dees[1] (born February 2, 1950, in Amarillo, Texas) is a retired major general in the United States Army.
A specialist on national security issues, he was the chairman of the Ben Carson campaign for the Republican presidential nomination in 2016.
After he officially retired from the U.S. military on January 1, 2003, he worked for the next two years as the executive director of Defense Strategies for Microsoft Corporation.
[3] In 2005, he became the executive director of Military Ministry,[3] focusing on soldiers coming home from the war with post-traumatic stress.
He was also a Research Fellow at the Royal College of Defence Studies in London and is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Virginia.
