Robert Jamieson (moderator)

Robert Jamieson (1802–1880) was a minister of the Church of Scotland and religious author, who served as Moderator of the General Assembly in 1872.

He was born on 3 January 1802 the son of Robert Jamieson, a baker in Edinburgh.

In December 1837 he translated to Currie just south of Edinburgh in place of John Somerville.

In April 1848 he was awarded an honorary Doctor of Divinity from Glasgow University.
