Robert Lazarsfeld

Robert Kendall Lazarsfeld (born April 15, 1953) is an American mathematician who specializes in algebraic geometry.

[1] He was previously the Raymond L. Wilder Collegiate Professor of Mathematics at the University of Michigan.

from Harvard College in 1975 and earned his Ph.D. from Brown University in 1980 under supervision of William Fulton.

He joined the faculty of the University of Michigan in 1997 and served as the Raymond L. Wilder Collegiate Professor there from 2007 to 2013.

In 2013 he joined the faculty of Stony Brook University, where he was the chair of the Mathematics Department from 2016-2019.
