Robert Henry McAnally (8 December 1882 - 10 July 1956) was an Australian composer and conductor.
He later became a captain in the Salvation Army and the conductor of the Australian Travelling Band.
[6] In 1899 he composed the musical score for Soldiers of the Cross, one of the first films made and produced in Australia.
[10] He was president of the Brass Bands' Association;[11] served on the board of music for the Salvation Army in Australia; adjudicated band competitions;[12] and was a founding member of the New South Wales Bandmasters' Association.
[13] An event is held by the Australian School Band and Orchestra Festival each year honouring the legacy of McAnally[14]
