Robert Smyth (26 February 1814 – 3 April 1898) was an Irish-born American politician.
He immigrated to the United States in 1834 and settled in Linn County, Iowa by 1840.
Between 1884 and 1886, he held the District 48 seat in the Iowa House of Representatives.
During his latter terms as a state legislator, Smyth was a Republican.
