Robert Charles Paul Wurtz[1] (French pronunciation: [ʁɔbɛʁ ʃaʁl pɔl vyʁts]; born 16 December 1941) is a French former football referee who was active in the 1970s and 1980s.
He was elected by journalists "French referee of the year" in 1971, 1974, 1975, 1977 and 1978.
Remembered for his theatrical and flamboyant style, he was called "the Nijinsky of the whistle" by Brazilian newspaper O Globo.
