Roberto Fraile

Roberto Fraile Fernández (1974 – 26 April 2021) was a Spanish journalist and cameraman.

Born in Barakaldo, he lived and worked in various media in Salamanca.

In 2012 he was injured by an explosion in Aleppo, where he was filming insurgent troops in the context of the Syrian civil war and was operated on in a hospital and evacuated to Turkey.

On 26 April 2021, Fraile was killed at the age of 46, alongside fellow Spanish journalist David Beriáin and Irish conservationist Rory Young, while they were filming a documentary about poaching in Pama, Burkina Faso.
