Rocourt, Jura

Rocourt (French pronunciation: [ʁɔkuʁ] ⓘ) is a former municipality in the district of Porrentruy in the canton of Jura in Switzerland.

Of the rest of the land, 0.21 km2 (0.081 sq mi) or 4.7% is settled (buildings or roads).

The village of Rocourt consists of two sections which are divided by the Porrentruy-Besançon road.

The blazon of the municipal coat of arms is Gules billetty Or a Cross of the last.

[9] Most of the population (as of 2000[update]) speaks French (130 or 91%) as their first language, German is the second most common (11 or 8%) and Arabic is the third (1 or 0.7%).

[9] The historical population is given in the following chart:[3][13] The entire village of Rocourt is designated as part of the Inventory of Swiss Heritage Sites[14] In the 2007 federal election the most popular party was the CVP which received 43% of the vote.

In the federal election, a total of 78 votes were cast, and the voter turnout was 62%.

[9] There were 76 residents of the municipality who were employed in some capacity, of which females made up 42% of the workforce.

In 2008[update] the total number of full-time equivalent jobs was 25.

[9] From the 2000 census[update], 113 (≈ 80%) were Roman Catholic, while 17 (≈ 12%) belonged to the Swiss Reformed Church.

This is followed by three years of obligatory lower Secondary school where the students are separated according to ability and aptitude.
