Since then, Roger has been a professional writer with a long list of recordings by artists as diverse as Barbra Streisand, Tammy Wynette, George Strait, Trace Adkins, Gary Allan, Kenny Chesney, John Michael Montgomery, Randy Travis, Rhonda Vincent, Willie Nelson, and Nanci Griffith.
In 1996, he was signed as an artist by Decca Records, and released the critically acclaimed mini-CD "Roger Brown & Swing City".
He was honored as the 2012 CCMA Songwriter of the Year for his hit "Is It Friday Yet" recorded by Canadian artist Gord Bamford.
Roger's songs have been recorded by artists in multiple genres, including country, big band, jazz, Texas/Red Dirt, folk, and bluegrass.
Brown continues to write songs and produce and is on the Legislative Committee of the Nashville Songwriters Association International.
