Roland Reber

Roland Reber (11 August 1954 – 11 September 2022)[1] was a German director, author and producer.

After finishing his studies at the Schauspielschule Bochum, Germany, in the 1970s, Reber worked as actor, writer and director at many German and international theatres such as Bochum, Essen, Zürich, Düsseldorf, Hamburg, Kingston, Jamaica, Moscow etc.

In 1981 he founded the Theatre Institute and worked as a director, author and actor.

He was Head of the World Theatre Project (in the framework of the Decade for Cultural Development of the UNESCO and UN) which he founded in 1989 and worked as director and writer in Cairo, Mexico and the Caribbean.

From 2003 until 2007 Reber was the official representative of the CIFF Cairo International Film Festival (A-Festival) for the German speaking countries and the official representative for Europe of the Damascus International Film Festival.
