[a] She earned a bachelor's degree in education from the Royal University of Phnom Penh's Institute of Foreign Languages.
Sopheap established the GADC as a local non-governmental organization (NGO) in Phnom Penh in early 2000.
In addition to its awareness campaigns for gender equality and women's rights, the organisation provides legal assistance and education.
[5] In 2014, GADC held a cycling event against domestic violence as part of the global campaign One Billion Rising.
[4] Through the GADC, Sopheap worked to launch a project designed to improve women's economic independence, Empowerment of Women through Small Economic Empowerment Projects in Kampong Chhnang, Prey Veng, and Pursat, using Oxfam's gender action learning system.
[1] Sopheap served as the president of the Committee to Promote Women in Politics[9] and worked with the non-governmental organisations Khemara and CARE.
