Roswell "Bob" Garst (June 13, 1898 – November 4, 1977) was an American farmer and seed company executive.
He sold hybrid seed to the Soviet Union beginning in 1955 and played a role in improving United States-Soviet communication.
As an international agriculturalist, he encouraged modern farming methods to improve food production in many nations, including the Soviet Union, Chile, Hungary, Germany, and France.
Garst made six trips to the Soviet Union to teach about hybrid seed and farm mechanization.
The farm was seen as historically significant because of its importance in general American history and because of its place as Garst's home.
