Russian corvette Ivanovets

The corvette was intended to join the Russian Navy in the Mediterranean Sea but was chosen to participate in security measures in preparation for the 2014 Winter Olympics at Sochi.

[4][5] On 21 July 2023, during training exercises in the northwestern part of the Black Sea, Ivanovets sank the Ukrainian corvette Ternopil with an anti-ship cruise missile.

Ternopil, captured by Russia in 2014 during the annexation of Crimea by the Russian Federation, was used as a live-fire practice target.

[6] During the Russian invasion of Ukraine on 1 February 2024, Ivanovets was attacked by Ukrainian forces using MAGURA maritime drones.

Although Russia claims the crew was evacuated, the Russian defense ministry did not comment on reports of the ship sinking.
