Ruth Wendell Washburn (January 19, 1890 – July 1975) was an American educational psychologist.
[1] After leaving Yale, Washburn worked as a consultant in child development for Milton Prep School (1938–1971),[1] the New Hampshire Children's Aid Society (1938–1955),[4] and Shady Hill School in Cambridge (1943–1962).
[1] Wendell was a member of the American Association for the Advancement of Science.
[3] Ruth spent her life with the archaeologist Margaret "Missy" Crosby in Boston and Vermont.
Upon Missy's death in 1972, Washburn moved back to Colorado Springs, where she died in July 1975.
