Samina Raja (Urdu: ثمینہ راجہ 11 September 1957 AS INSCRIBED ON HER TOMBSTONE VERIFIED BY THE EDUCATIONAL CERTIFICATES – 30 October 2012)[1] was a Pakistani Urdu poet,[2] writer, editor, translator, educationist and broadcaster.
She gained a master's degree in Urdu literature from Punjab University in Lahore.
[4] Raja joined the National Book Foundation as a consultant and as editor of the monthly Kitab in 1998.
Many a times she refused to participate in literary events where chief guests were those who had nothing to do with literature,” Samina Raja demonstrated work by many unique techniques (ideas) of writing.
Her death is a major loss to literature.”[citation needed] Raja died of cancer in Islamabad on 31 October 2012.
