In 2020, Scherrer won the silver medal in the 92 kg event at the European Wrestling Championships held in Rome, Italy.

[1] In the same year, Scherrer also won one of the bronze medals in the men's 92 kg event at the 2020 Individual Wrestling World Cup held in Belgrade, Serbia.

[4][5] In March 2021, he competed at the European Qualification Tournament in Budapest, Hungary hoping to qualify for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.

[6] A month later, Scherrer won the silver medal in the men's 92 kg event at the 2021 European Wrestling Championships held in Warsaw, Poland.

[10] He also competed at the 2023 Dan Kolov & Nikola Petrov Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria and in the 97 kg event at the 2023 European Wrestling Championships held in Zagreb, Croatia.
