Samuelu Laloniu

Samuelu Laloniu (born 14 May 1969) is a career diplomat from Tuvalu.

He took up his post as the Permanent Representative to the United Nations on 21 July 2017.

[1][2] He also presented his credentials as Tuvalu's ambassador to the United States on 21 July 2017.

In 1997, he served as a Pacific Regional Project Associate with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in the Fiji office, prior to which he was a Fisheries Research and Development Officer at the Ministry of Natural Resources from 1994 to 1996.

[6] He is a graduate of the University of Otago in New Zealand, and then earned a Master of Arts degree in public policy from Victoria University in Wellington, New Zealand.
