Sanford M. Jacoby (born 1953) is an American economic historian and labor economist, and Distinguished Research Professor of Management, History, and Public Policy at University of California, Los Angeles.
[5] Jacoby began his academic career at the UCLA Anderson School of Management in 1980 [6] and was appointed Howard Noble Distinguished Professor in 2001.
His research interests include the history of employers, unions, and labor market institutions, and the political economy of corporate governance.
Jacoby has received a series of recognitions for his work, starting in 1982 with the Allan Nevins Prize from the Economic History Association.
[6] In 1986 he received the George R. Terry Book Award of the Academy of Management, and in 1997 the Philip Taft Prize in Labor History.
