Founded in 1888, the College educated area teachers and offered courses in banking, merchandising, shorthand, typing and business law.

Over the years, SBBCollege added new programs to meet the demands of emerging industries and expanded to five communities in Southern California.

During the last part of the 20th century, the College added medical, legal and information technology programs.

[citation needed] On January 2, 2020, SBBCollege was acquired by San Joaquin Valley College.
