He then proceeded to Ahmadu Bello University in Zaria, where he received a bachelor's degree in law in 1983, and was called to the Nigerian Bar in 1984.
In April 2015, he was appointed the managing director of the Nigerian Port Authority,[6] he position he held until his removal in August 2015.
