Savage Aural Hotbed

Savage Aural Hotbed (abbreviated as SAH) is a "found object" band based in Minneapolis, Minnesota, United States.

They are heavily influenced by Japanese taiko drumming, but also feature usage of home-made instruments, metal and plastic barrels, saw-blades, power-tools, and other hardware, both in the albums and in the live shows.

Savage Aural Hotbed has also been featured in an article on National Public Radio's Weekend Edition.

The band has been honored with a star on the outside mural of the Minneapolis nightclub First Avenue,[1] recognizing performers that have played sold-out shows or have otherwise demonstrated a major contribution to the culture at the iconic venue.

Japanese Taiko drumming with its big arm movements and disciplined musical tightness is a major inspiration.
