Schak Bull

Schak August Steenberg Bull (10 May 1858 – 25 January 1956) was a Norwegian architect.

He was born in Årstad as the son of Colonel Jens Munthe Bull (1815-1905) and his wife Johanne Margrethe Hagerup (1817-1888).

[1] Schak Bull graduated from the Eidgenössische Technische Hochschule Zürich or ETH Zürich (Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich) in 1879, after which he returned to Bergen, Norway to work as an architect.

From 1914 he formed a partnership with his son Jens Munthe Bull.

[2] In total he was the architect of 186 buildings in Bergen, as well as several in other parts of the country, although many of these have been lost in fires.
