Scipio Sighele (24 June 1868 – 21 October 1913) was an Italian psychologist, sociologist, criminologist and a pioneer of mass psychology.
[1] In this work, he mentioned Enrico Ferri, a contemporary colleague and friend, several times.
They shared similar views on the influence of a crowd on its members.
This fundamental idea was also described by Gabriel Tarde and Gustave le Bon.
Sighele and Tarde debated how to determine and assign criminal responsibility within a crowd.
