Scott Brister

Scott Andrew Brister (born January 8, 1955) is a former justice of the Supreme Court of Texas, who served from November 2003 until September 2009.

He was appointed by Governor Rick Perry to serve the remainder of the term of Justice Craig T. Enoch.

Brister resigned from the court effective September 7, 2009, before the scheduled end of his term on December 31, 2010.

He was elected to that position in 2002 and served the first eleven months of that term before he was appointed to the Texas Supreme Court.

Brister, a Republican, was appointed to chair the Texas Commission on Public School Finance by Governor Greg Abbott in 2017.
