Sein Bo Tint

[1] He was born Maung Tint in 1938, in Kyaiklat, British Burma, as the fifth of ten children.

After leaving school at the age of 14, Tint became a full-time musician, whose performances were broadcast nationwide.

[1] He also expanded the kyi waing to 29 gongs, to accommodate the gap between Burmese and western tonalities.

[1] He died from lung cancer on 23 August 1994 at Yangon General Hospital, survived by his wife San Pwint and seven children.

[1][2] A bronze bust of Sein Bo Tint was completed in 2017 and placed in his hometown of Kyaiklat on 29 September.
