Semikarakorsk

Semikarakorsk (Russian: Семикарако́рск) is a town and the administrative center of Semikarakorsky District in Rostov Oblast, Russia, located on the left bank of the Don River, 137 kilometers (85 mi) northeast of Rostov-on-Don, the administrative center of the oblast.

[7] The stanitsa of Semikarakorskaya (Семикаракорская), which was founded by the Don Cossacks, was known since 1672.

[citation needed] The stanitsa changed its location frequently due to Don's flooding and finally was moved to its present location in 1845.
