It is one of the stations being built as part of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) project on the Putrajaya Line.

This station is about 2 km (1 ¼ mile) east of  KB05  Serdang KTM Komuter station, the closest approach between the Putrajaya Line and Seremban Line.

For passengers coming in the opposite direction, they have to board the feeder bus T565 and stop at the bus stop in Taman Muhhibah - the feeder bus does not stop at KTM Serdang station - and then walk through an overhead bridge to the KTM Serdang station.

Alternately, bus T565 or T569 stops at The Mines shopping mall, which is about 10 minutes walk via the Taman Sungai Besi Indah Section 4 commercial area to the KTM station.

Passengers can also instead ride the Putrajaya line to Sungai Besi station and interchange with Sri Petaling Line to Bandar Tasik Selatan station where the station connected with Seremban Line, KLIA Transit and Integrated Transport Terminal (TBS).
