From 1991 to 2008, the brand was owned and manufactured by Italian white goods company Antonio Merloni SpA.
Antonio Merloni entered administration in 2008 and ceased manufacturing Servis appliances.
During a staff training course in the 1970s, employees were told that the name of the company was derived from one of the manager's children, who had spelt "service" incorrectly.
[citation needed] However, back in the late 1960s/early 1970s, the Servis family lived at Flint House, Goring on Thames, now the Police Rehabilitation Centre.
[1] In September 2011, Vestel of Turkey was reported to have purchased the Servis brand from Antonio Merloni SpA.
