Shane Patrick Bowers (born July 27, 1971) is an American former Major League Baseball pitcher who played for the Minnesota Twins in 1997.
Born in Glendora, California,[1] Bowers went to Charter Oak High School in Covina, where he played baseball and basketball, before attending Loyola Marymount University.
[3] In 1997, he played for the New Britain Rock Cats for two months, recording a 7–2 win–loss record and 3.41 earned run average (ERA) before receiving a promotion to the Salt Lake Buzz, the Twins' Triple-A team.
His first major league appearance came on July 26 against the Baltimore Orioles; Bowers allowed one run in 5+2⁄3 innings pitched.
[5] In 2001, he went overseas to play for the Yokohama BayStars of Japan's Central League; he started 26 games, going 3–13 with a 4.39 ERA.
