[2]  She moved to America in 2010 to pursue a photojournalism degree at the University of Missouri in Columbia.

[4] Since 2010, Zhu has been collaborating with fellow Chinese producer, visual artist, writer, and director Yang Zhengfang.

They co-founded the production company Burn the Film, which focuses on creating and supporting moving-image works with “singular voices”.

[8] It received the Sesterce d’or Best film Award at its premiere at the Visions du Réel in Switzerland, as well as the Grand Prize at the RIDM Montreal International documentary festival, the Critics Award at the Olhar de Cinema festival in Brazil, and was nominated as one of the Top 10 Films of the Year in 2016 by 24 Images magazine.
