Sheshory

[2] Sheshory was first mentioned in 1427[3] or 1445,[4] although evidence of human settlement in the village dates to the Stone Age.

A narodnyi dim was founded in 1924, and the wooden Church of the Holy Great Martyr Paraskeva of Sunday [uk] continues to stand.

[5] Sheshory was the site of a battle on 20 October 1950, during the anti-Soviet resistance by the Ukrainian Insurgent Army.

[6] A monument to the writer, poet, and artist Taras Shevchenko, created by Ivan Honchar [uk],[7] was opened by Viacheslav Chornovil in his capacity as a Komsomol worker on 8 August 1965.

Another monument, to the writer and poet Ivan Franko, was erected in the village on 13 August 1995.
